Salt sprayers (such as the Fiedler FSSA series) apply a liquid salt solution directly to the road surface. The main advantages are:
- 75% salt saving: Due to the liquid form, significantly less active ingredient is required.
- Immediate effect: The brine does not need to be activated by moisture; it takes effect immediately.
- No drifting: Unlike dry salt, the brine stays exactly where it is sprayed, even in windy conditions or with fast-moving traffic.
- Environmentally friendly: Less salt significantly reduces the impact on groundwater and roadside vegetation.
Thanks to the modular FTS tank system (cascade design), Fiedler offers solutions for almost any carrier vehicle:

- Standard brine (NaCl, 23% concentration): The unbeatable classic for preventive winter maintenance before frost sets in or during light snowfall. It reliably delivers its maximum de-icing effect at temperatures ranging from -10 °C to -12 °C.
- Magnesium chloride brine (MgCl₂): The powerful solution for periods of extreme cold. When conventional brine reaches its limits, this special brine remains fully effective even in arctic conditions down to -30 °C.
Fiedler relies on the FMC control system (Fiedler Multimatic Control). This is fully travel-dependent, which means that, regardless of your speed, the application rate per square metre remains absolutely constant. Monitoring is carried out via closed-loop control systems that continuously balance pressure and flow.
The tanks are made from high-quality, UV-resistant and impact-resistant polyethylene (PE). As brine is highly corrosive, PE offers the perfect protection as it is completely rust-free. At Fiedler, even the metal parts, such as the spray bar, are made from V2A stainless steel as standard to ensure maximum service life.
Yes. Via the CAN bus control system and optional GPS connections, all operational data (distance travelled, amount applied, time) can be recorded in full. This is essential for local authorities and service providers to ensure that their snow clearance and gritting obligations are documented in a legally compliant manner.
